The Profit Multiplier System
How to use this system:
- Open any AI tool (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, etc.) in a new tab
- Copy and paste Prompt 1 – this is the only input you need to write manually
- Continue with Prompts 2-18 in order – just copy and paste each one
- Use the ready-made templates in Part 5 for immediate implementation
- Important: Don’t skip prompts – each one builds on the previous step
This is the complete system that took my $27 offer and transformed it into $130+ per customer automatically.
Part 1: Upsell Psychology Foundation (Prompts 1-5)
Programming AI to understand your customer’s psychological state and guide them to additional purchases.
Prompt 1: Define Your Upsell Context (Manual Input Required)
I have a customer who just purchased [your main product/service] for [price] and I want to create upsells that increase average order value.
My main product details:
- What they bought: [describe the main product/service]
- Price: [main product price]
- What problem it solves: [primary pain point addressed]
- Target audience: [specific customer demographics and psychographics]
Business context:
- Industry: [your industry]
- Current average order value: [if known]
- Upsell goals: [what you want to achieve]
Help me understand the psychological opportunity here, but don’t write any copy yet. After analysis, confirm understanding and wait for next instruction.
Prompt 2: Map Customer Psychology at Purchase
Based on the product context I provided and general purchase psychology patterns, analyze the typical psychological state of customers who buy this type of product:
Typical Emotional Patterns:
- What emotional states are common immediately after purchasing this type of solution?
- What excitement vs. anxiety patterns typically emerge?
- Based on the price point and problem type, are customers usually in “buying mode” or “buyer’s remorse mode”?
Logical Problem Evolution:
- Given what my product solves, what related problems typically become more obvious?
- What implementation challenges would logically create new needs?
- Based on purchase psychology research, when are customers most receptive to additional offers?
Base your analysis on established consumer psychology principles and the specific context I provided.
Prompt 3: Identify Upsell Resistance Points
Map the psychological barriers preventing additional purchases:
Main Resistance Types:
- “I just bought something” mentality
- “Let me try this first” thinking
- Budget concerns after initial purchase
- “This feels like a sales trick” skepticism
- Decision fatigue and overwhelm
For each barrier, note what would neutralize or overcome it.
Prompt 4: Create the Value Logic Framework
Develop the framework that makes upsells feel like intelligent decisions:
Enhancement Logic: How does the upsell make the main product more effective? Timing Logic: Why now instead of later? Value Multiplication: How does 1+1=3 in this scenario? Risk Reduction: How does this reduce their failure risk?
Present as a persuasion framework that feels helpful, not manipulative.
Prompt 5: Design the Momentum Strategy
Create strategy for maintaining buying momentum without triggering resistance:
Momentum Preservation: How do you keep their “yes” energy alive? Confidence Building: How do you reinforce their smart decision? Future Visualization: What story do you tell about enhanced results? Ethical Boundaries: What lines won’t you cross?
This serves as your ethical framework for all upsell communications.
Result: Complete psychological blueprint for ethical, effective upsell sequences.
Part 2: Order Bump Engineering (Prompt 6)
Creating low-resistance add-ons during the checkout process.
Prompt 6: Analyze Order Bump Psychology
Based on our psychological foundation, identify what makes order bumps work:
Checkout Process Psychology:
- What price range feels “impulse-friendly” for my customer type?
- How does the buying mindset during checkout differ from browsing?
- What decision complexity can they handle while already purchasing?
Logical Connection Requirements:
- What makes an add-on feel like an “obvious” companion to my main product?
- How do you frame it as “completing” rather than “adding to” their purchase?
- What would minimize the “this feels like a sales trick” response?
Part 3: Product Ideation & Selection (Prompts 7-9)
Using AI to generate winning upsell and order bump products that customers actually want to buy.
Prompt 7: Generate Upsell & Order Bump Ideas
Based on all the psychological analysis we’ve done, create 10 specific product ideas that would naturally appeal to my customers:
5 Order Bump Ideas (Low price, immediate value): For each order bump, specify:
- Exact product name and description
- What’s included (be specific)
- Suggested price range and reasoning
- Why it connects logically to main product
- Implementation difficulty (Low/Medium/High)
- Why customers would find it irresistible
5 Upsell Ideas (Higher price, substantial value): For each upsell, specify:
- Exact product name and description
- Complete contents breakdown
- Suggested price range and reasoning
- How it enhances the main product results
- Target customer segment
- Implementation difficulty (Low/Medium/High)
- Unique selling angle vs competitors
Focus on products that feel essential rather than optional.
Prompt 8: Evaluate & Rank Product Ideas
Analyze the 10 product ideas you generated and rank them by overall potential:
Evaluation Criteria:
- Market demand probability (how badly customers want this)
- Profit potential relative to creation effort
- Logical connection strength to main product
- Competitive advantage potential
- Speed to market (how quickly I can create it)
For Top 5 Products, provide:
- Overall ranking score and reasoning
- Biggest strengths and potential weaknesses
- Customer objections you’d expect and how to overcome them
- Revenue projection based on my current business
- Implementation timeline estimate
Strategic Recommendations:
- Which should I create first and why?
- What’s the optimal launch sequence?
- Any seasonal timing considerations?
Prompt 9: Create Product Development Roadmap
Based on your rankings, create a strategic implementation plan:
Priority 1 Product (Create First):
- Why this product beats all others
- Minimum viable version to launch quickly
- Key success metrics to track
- Launch strategy overview
Priority 2-3 Products (Create Next):
- How they complement Priority 1
- Logical sequencing reasons
- Cross-promotion opportunities
Long-term Strategy:
- How these products build on each other
- Potential product suite synergies
- Scaling considerations for successful products
Risk Management:
- What could go wrong with each top product
- Backup plans if Priority 1 fails
- How to test demand before full development
Result: Clear roadmap of exactly which products to create, in what order, and why they’ll succeed in your specific market.
Part 4: Advanced Upsell Strategy (Prompt 10)
Maximizing revenue through strategic timing, sequencing, and optimization of multiple upsell opportunities.
Prompt 10: Design Multi-Upsell Sequences
Create the strategic framework for offering multiple upsells without overwhelming customers:
Sequence Psychology:
- What’s the maximum number of upsells before customer resistance peaks?
- How does acceptance rate change from first to second to third upsell?
- What price progression feels natural (ascending, descending, or mixed)?
- How do you maintain momentum across multiple offers?
Strategic Sequencing:
- Should lowest or highest value upsell come first?
- How do you logically connect upsell #1 to upsell #2?
- What makes customers feel they’re building a “complete system”?
- When do you stop offering and risk damaging the relationship?
Conditional Logic:
- How do you customize upsell sequences based on first purchase behavior?
- What triggers different upsell paths for different customer types?
- How do you handle customers who reject the first upsell?
Part 5: Templates & Implementation (Prompts 11-12)
